107.3 HFM is a Community Radio station and as the title suggests we are here for our community. Our primary function is to engage with the local community and give access other not for profit community groups, sports clubs, social groups and members of the community to get their message out there.
We have a number of specialist shows on the station that set up to give more specific information to that section of our community such as 2 Cro Girls which is a weekly show covering news, culture, sports and music from the Croatian community.
We have previously had a Japanese focus show on the station and hope to again add shows that cover other cultures from our local community.
This website has a page where local groups can list details of their events. Our live on-air announcers also read out Community Service Announcements, which we call CSA on the station during their shows. Not every show has a live announcer as we rely on volunteers. If you have an idea for a community based show please get in touch via our contact form or email [email protected] with more details.
We can be found out in the community doing outside broadcasts at events such as The Kelmscott Show, The Canning Show, The Armadale Australis Day Fireworks and many other community events. If you are hosting a large community event and would like us to be there please email the details to [email protected] as far in advance as possible. These types of outside broadcasts take time to organise as we rely on volunteers to staff them.
For the last 20 years of 107.3 HFM James Wray presented a Saturday morning show called In Your Neighbourhood and would regularly have the local councilors, mayors or members of parliament in to have a chat about what was happing in our local area. Sadly in mid 2024 James Wray retired from presenting this show and we are very keen to find a replacement. If you are interested in local current affairs and feel this might be something you could be involved in please contact [email protected]. Training can be provided if you have not been involved in radio before.
Above all else, the management and volunteers of 107.3 HFM want to live up to our tag line of being “The Voice of Your Community” so please get in touch if you have ideas on how we can do that better or if you could help us to do that by becoming a volunteer yourself.
