Chairperson – Ryan Honschooten

Ryan was a founding member of Heritage FM Inc. and has been involved in the station in many roles over the last 30 years. He has an amazing passion for Community Radio and Community Groups in general. He has been the the President of Goalball Australia for the last 5 year. He is a current member of the Australian Blind Cricket team and has spent years involved with Blind Sports WA and many other groups.

Vice Chair – Frank Scatchard

Frank has been involved in HFM for many years and has served a number of committee roles. He has been a presenter of Rockaria since 2013, making it our longest running show.

Frank runs his own business and bring a wealth of knowledge to the Committee in areas of organisation, governance and administration.

Secretary – Ted Watts

Ted joined HFM mid 2025 and has now taken on the position as Secretary and a presenter on The Big Sunday Breakfast and the Teddy Bears Picnic.

Ted is currently retired but works hard at several community groups to assist those who need help. He is also an accredited trainer with another organisation and has run several successful businesses during his working career, which include a newspaper, printing businesses, computer sales, service and teaching and a pancake restaurant.

Treasurer – Sean Appleyard

Sean is new to Community Radio but has experience with fundraising for organisations such as Canteen, Kalamunda Rangers Teeball Club and most recently, organising sponsor signage for the Eaton Foreshore Festival in 2024.

Sean brings his passion for Perth’s thriving live music scene to HFM, championing the station’s values of supporting local talent and promoting live performances. He has played Guitar, Bass and Drums since 2001.

Committee Member – Tony Hagan

Tony is new to Community Radio but has either worked for, or been on the boards of, multiple not-for-profit organisations for the past 30 years.

He currently presents his weekly show on HFM – “It’s a Rap” with his son.

As part of many community organisations over the years, he’s able to understand the requirement of trying to always do more with the resources available. He is passionate about ensuring all members are connected and working toward a sustainable future for HFM.

Committee Member – Darren Green

Darren joined HFM midway through 2024, initially coming on as presenter of ‘The Sunday Sesh’, before joining the committee in January 2025.

Coming from a finance background, Darren feels his strongest attributes are his number skills and attention to detail. It is these attributes he used in assisting other community organisations over the years, starting in 1991 with the Leos Club, part of the Lions Club for young people. He has also volunteered with several sporting clubs and various community groups.

Darren looks forward to contributing to the growth of HFM for many years to come.

Paul Stafford DJ

Committee Member – Paul Stafford

Paul has vast experience in both commercial and community radio gained over many years as a DJ and presenter both in the UK and Australia.

He joins the committee to assist in the training area where he will head up the collation of our existing training manuals and develop new training where needed to ensure we offer the most comprehensive training to our members.
