107.3 HFM Radio is run 100% by volunteers. Our presenters prepare and present shows driven by a passion for the selected topic of that show. This may revolve around a particular genre of music, or an interest in local current affairs or a passion for their own cultural heritage. Our goal is to live up to the tagline “The Voice of Your Community” and so if you think you would like to present a show at 107.3 HFM please get in touch. Training is available so don’t be afraid to contact us even if you have no experience in radio.

I’ve been a long-time listener of HFM some 20+ years. I have known Frank since primary school, so we go back quite some time as well. After an unfortunate health issue, I was no longer able to sit in my bar and enjoy (heckle) the show, so Frank and Ryan invited me into the station to see how the show was produced. My Saturday afternoons were at a loss so I was invited by Frank and Ryan to join Rockaria.
Although I don’t say a lot, I enjoy the banter that goes on. Nearly 3 years ago I started a segment within the show called Hugos Metal Meltdown (Hugo being a nickname from my youth) and the rest is history.

Meet Bill Shaw, aka ‘Sticks’

Bodie has been an announcer with HFM for over 20 years. He has worked on many shows during that time from Current Affairs, Oz Tracks, Movie Realm and more. Bodie now finds himself on 80’s Afternoons.
Away from HFM Bodie is a Singer/Songwriter and MC having worked with many local, national and International acts. Being a lover of all music he especially loves the 80’s.

Coops is a child of the ‘70s. Brought up on the music of the great bands from that time – Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Pink Floyd, and more – and the iconic Aussie bands from the same era – AC/DC, Skyhooks, Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, The Angels, and so on. Coops has a love of old school rock and metal; he can sometimes be seen as a bit of a rock ‘n’ roll dinosaur …but that said, Coops has a thirst for finding new music to share with listeners from the ever-expanding universe of music. When it comes to choosing what to play, it gets harder each week: there is more music in the pool to choose from this week than last, with only the same amount of time to share it. Coops sees investing in music purchases as a form of altruism: he buys music – new and old – so that the listener can enjoy it! Coops also has a passion for discovering and promoting new Western Australian and Australian artists through the medium of radio.
Coops has been involved with community radio at various times since 2003. He started as an on-air presenter at 105.5 RoxFM in Roxby Downs, South Australia (where he picked up the T.Rox handle as “the rock ‘n’ roll dinosaur” on the back of his rock program Hot Rox). From there Coops moved to Newman in the Pilbara, broadcasting three shows per week from the studios of 92.9 6NEW. After a hiatus from radio with a return to the Perth metropolitan area, Coops eventually found his way to 107.3 HFM, going live with Rock or Bust! on ANZAC Day 2016, a Monday night rock show that continues to this day. Coops is also part of the presenter roster for the Saturday night program 4th Dimension.
Rock or Bust! – Monday nights 7:00pm until late | 4th Dimension – Saturday nights 6:00-9:00pm (as part of a rotating roster of presenters)

A lover of 90’s Pop-rock/Grunge/Metal/Indie music Darren hosts the Sunday Sesh program on Sunday afternoons. He describes his musical taste as “tunes you can cook a barbie to while having a few drinks with friends, with spontaneous headbanging moments likely”.
Bands such as Green Day, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, RHCP, Live, Metallica, Guns N Roses, AC/DC are a staple, along with modern bands influenced by the 90’s sound. Going under the moniker ‘Radman’, you can catch Darren every Sunday afternoon from 4-6pm

Hey I’m Elena – one of the voices you’ll hear on 107.3 HFM!
Community radio, for me, is all about connection… creating a vibe, telling stories, and making you feel something through the music. If I can brighten up your day or help you rediscover a song you forgot you loved, then that makes me happy!
I’ve got a soft spot for anything live, there’s just something special about the energy of a real performance that you just can’t beat, so outside of the studio you’ll probably find me at a local gig, whether that’s big bands or supporting grassroots artists.
I am also a huge animal lover so don’t be surprised if I ramble on about my dogs, sheep, chickens & alpacas!
I hope you tune in and hang out with me… I’ll bring the music!

Frank grew up In Heritage Country and destiny sealed my fait by returning me to my roots in a way I would never have believed would happen.
Frank says “I loves a wide range of music, but you’d never guess that, based on my 10 year tenure hosting ROCKARIA, where we love airing the local underdogs of hard & heavy music.
Community Radio has been a very satisfying part of my life.

Gav is the host of both the CBAA Award Winning, (BRL) Beats Rhymes and Life and 90s Til Infinity series. He has been a radio presenter in many different stations from Taree to Perth and back again, Commercial and Community since 2001.
Gavin is also a 6 time CBAA Award Nominee, Catch him on BRL and 90s & 00s Til Infinity on 107.3 HFM.

I grew up listening to the local radio station in Southern Ireland. I spent a number of years working in the live music scene in London before moving to Perth in 2003.
I have been a long-term Corporate Sponsor of the station since around 2015 when I sponsored the Live at the Creeks WA Day event. I started presenting in March 2024 for St Patricks Day. Now I’m a regular presenter of “In The Scene” every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm, a show featuring 100% local WA artists from the world of indie, folk, country, pop, electronica and so much more.

Keith joined the station in 2003 (as a volunteer, producing CSAs, organising the CD Library, office admin. etc., and later was the volunteer coordinator, supervising other volunteers). Australia Day 2004 was the date of his first broadcast.
He has been a lifelong music fan and has seen Jimi Hendrix twice. In fact, the very first gig he attended was a Who gig, where Jimi Hendrix was booked as the support. Keith lists San Francisco and New Orleans, a two of his favourite musical cities and he has spent time in both cities.
Some of Keith’s previous shows on 107.3 HFM include Music With-Out Frontiers, The Odds and Sods Show, The Sunday Washup and Time Machine. Keith now presents Kaleidoscope every Sunday evening from 6pm to 8pm and The 4th Dimension every 3 weeks as this show has rotating presenters.4

Born in London on the day that ‘’Rock Around The Clock ‘’ was recorded by Bill Haley & His Comets, Paul started DJing at School in 1967 before turning professional in 1973 and working throughout Europe, Spain, Tunisia and Scandinavia for Pontins, Thompson Holiday’s in addition to IDEA (International DJ & Entertainment Agency based in Copenhagen).
In the UK he worked at Top Rank, Mecca, Julianna’s and Bacchus which included a number of gigs at Buckingham Palace and other Royal Residences including short spells at London’s famous ‘’Empire Ballroom’’ and Playboy Club.
Throughout these years he was fortunate to work with a multitude of acts including Chuck Berry, Leo Sayer, Blondie, Madonna, Spandau Ballet, Dire Straits and The Boomtown Rats.
In 1981 Paul created his own agency with offices in Bromley & Beckenham in Kent where his clientel included nightclubs in and around London, Brands Hatch Motor Racing Circuit, Crystal Palace FC and airline, British Airways.
His radio career kicked off with many years in land based Pirates and Community broadcasters coupled with time at commercial stations such as London’s Capital Radio, Plymouth Sound, Coast AM and Invicta FM where he worked alongside Simon Lee. Paul also broadcast for 21 years at the Biggin Hill International Airshow, where he covered breakfast.
During the 1990’s and after divorce from his first wife, Paul had a spell in the USA as cover on a number of Fox affiliates commencing in Long Beach California and Ending in Hartford, Connecticut with stops in 15 US States.
Paul’s radio career also included many years in management where he programmed a diverse variety of commercial and community stations including a very brief spell in Seattle (Washington State).
Migrating to Perth in 2005, Paul has had spells at Radio Fremantle, Sport FM, Heritage, Twin Cities and Capital Community Radio plus many hundreds of gigs and functions for diverse agencies such as Phenomenon, Power, BBC and venues such as Crown, Sandalford and Peel Manor.
In 2022 Paul had 2 heartaches coupled with cancer and decided to retire from live work in an effort to recover his health and now in remission he returns to HFM and his first love of playing music.
Away from the entertainment world he spent 15 years involved in UK Women’s Football, which included 7 years as a councilor of the English Women’s FA, London Youth FA & London Men’s FA and this love brought him to Sydney for the 2000 Olympics.
Known as MUSIC MAN to many around the world (which is also the rego plate on his car), Paul believes that his life has been blessed from the start growing up in the Swinging Sixties and doing something that he loves. The only day that haunts him is that on one February evening he was working at Music Machine in London’s Kentish Town and spoke with Bon Scott who was there with friends. Sadly that night the AC/DC frontman left us for a final time.
Paul has 2 children and a number of grandchildren and lives in Bibra Lake with wife of over 20 years, May (a career theatre nurse).

Hey there! I’m Ryan, or as some know me, The Henshooter.
I’ve been in the community radio game for over 30 years, doing all sorts of fun stuff. I’ve always had this dream of being the bold and brash breakfast announcer on a rocky FM station, but life took me down a different path.
Well, guess what? I finally got to live out that dream on a Saturday afternoon! I co-host Rockaria with Hugo and the Frankinator, and it’s an absolute blast.
And if you’re into rock music, you’re in for a treat because I have a weekly 4play that you won’t want to miss. So, grab your headphones and tune in!0

Simon Lee has worked for the BBC, and commercial radio both locally and nationally in the UK before moving to Australia over 20 years ago.
He can be seen hosting quiz nights across Perth and heard on commercial radio in Perth. If you were to ask where home is, he would say HFM. Simon presents Drive every Monday from 4pm

Stephen joined HFM in 2024 along with his dad to present a new show called It’s A Rap. “It feels like a cop out to say but I really am down to listen to anything and my interests have bounced around considerably over the years. Rock, indie, hip-hop, a little bit of country and even the blackest metal but I think above it all I’m what the kids would call a pop girlie. Something about those multi-layered harmonies, synths and vocal driven tracks. Pop isn’t a dirty word!
In terms of community I’ve spent my last 18 summers (and counting) playing for CBC Cricket Club where I spent nine years on the committee, seven as treasurer, and am a life member.
During my high school & uni days I also spent a number of years volunteering on Saturday mornings at a dance/activity class for children on the autism spectrum. Community radio, particularly the way our show is structured, is a great opportunity for me to keep in touch with the great up-and-coming music talent in our city and all over the country while also being able to share some of the older stuff that I’m still passionate about. It’s pretty cool to be able to be on the air and do all that with TH too.

I’ve always loved the opportunity to exercise my creative pursuits, and announcing on HFM allows me another way to do this. The “awe’ I get from listening to good music and then sharing it with others in the community is a real buzz.
This is especially true when I ‘discover’ new music from local and national artists. Community radio is the perfect place to closely connect with these artists and to assist them to pursue their passions.

After completing training and presenting at fellow community radio station RTRFM in 2024, Zane joined HFM in early 2025 as a 20 year-old, bringing a different perspective to music and the modern zeitgeist. Zane has been a lover of music since a very young age, particularly interested in its impact on popular culture from the early 2010’s to today. Attracted to all forms of artistic expression, Zane is currently completing a BSc in fine arts at Curtin University. If Zane isn’t at the station or at university, you’ll often find him at the archery range firing a few arrows, a passion he has enjoyed since he was 11.
